Combo Cable Retermination (PowerCon True)

These examples are assembled incorrectly!

Never attempt repair while cable is plugged into anything or energized

1.

  • Remove collar ( twist counterclockwise)

2.

  • Remove sheath and slide back

3.

  • Remove connector and set aside (there will be some resistance when sliding forward due to the O-ring)

  • Using a 2mm allen wrench unscrew all terminals

  • Remove socket and set aside

  • Repeat this step for the other end

4.

  • Ensure each connector stays with the socket it came off with, they are not compatible.

5.

  • Assembling on the opposite side it came off, tighten each wire down using the allen wrench. ( it helps to first loosen each terminal all the way so the wire slips in easily. Don't loosen too far that the set screw comes out)

  • Insert only the exposed conductor, do not clamp down on the wire insulator

  • Brown goes to L (live)Blue goes to N (neutral), Green goes to ⏚ (earth ground)

  • Double check your work, as an improperly wired cable may cause electrical shorts and possible equipment damage!

6.

  • Push the sheath forward until it meets up to the socket

  • Rotate until it locks in square with the socket ( there is only one orientation that they sit correctly)

7.

  • Slide connector back on, there is only one orientation where it will line up. ( there are grooves inside the connector, while there are lugs on the socket and sheath. Match the large ones up by rotating, and it will slide on. There will be slight resistance again as it slides across the O-ring.)

8.

  • Twist on the collar by hand (clockwise) until seated.

  • There should not be any gap between the collar and the connector

  • Repeat the last few steps for both sides

Congratulations you are done! Excellent Work!
